University of Limassol (UoL) has been operating since 1990, the University of Limassol, a renowned business school, is a development of the Cyprus International Institute of Management (CIIM). It was founded as a Private School of Higher Education by a group of leading Cypriot executives and renowned academics from leading universities around the world.
Hundreds of internationally known scientists from foreign universities and prominent Cypriot academics have taught at CIIM. Approximately 3,000 Cypriot and international students have studied in the 10 postgraduate programs offered by CIIM over its 33-year history. A substantial number UoL graduates have managed to obtain scholarships from the Republic of Cyprus as well as other governments. More than 500 CIIM graduates have held and continue to hold management positions in the public sector, parastatal institutions, the education service, and local government, while hundreds more graduates run organizations and businesses not only in Cyprus but also overseas.
In the following years, new Schools and Departments will be established, including a Law School, a Health Sciences School, a Social Science School, and related Departments.
The University of Limassol will operate in the same way that CIIM does today, with two campuses: the current Nicosia CIIM site, where all graduate programs will be provided, and the current Limassol CIIM campus, where graduate programs will also be offered. The three undergraduate programs will begin in the upcoming academic year (2023-24) at a freshly rebuilt structure across from Limassol’s Lanition Gymnasium.
The existing Nicosia site will serve as the institution’s headquarters until mid-2026, when the new purpose-built campus in Palodia, Limassol, will be completed and the institution will relocate there, with the exception of the Nicosia graduate programs, which will stay at the UoL’s Nicosia branch campus.
The University of Limassol places equal emphasis on teaching and research excellence, as well as a dual focus on national and international student markets, and is devoted to fostering sustainable development, green transition, and digital transformation in economy and society.
