Permanent or Long-term Residence
Our Permanent or Long-term Residence Services are aimed at those who are permitted to enter the island either for longer periods of time, or indefinitely, including:
EU citizens & family members of EU citizens
EU citizens and their family members have the right to apply for a temporary residence permit upon arrival to the island, after completing the necessary paperwork. This allows them to find immediate employment and register with the Social Insurance Department. Permanent or long-term residency can then be secured after a period of five continuous years living on the island. In certain cases it can be obtained through less than five years continuous residence on the island, for which there is specific criteria that we can advise you on.
Asylum seekers & recognised refugees
For refugees and asylum seekers Rideo Group can provide much-needed support during this challenging time and stand by your side during the process of securing residency, also acting as your lawyer, should you require one. Please note that any person who wishes to apply for international protection has the right to a lawyer during all stages of the asylum procedure.
Persons who fulfil the criteria of a refugee or asylum seeker (which includes persecution and risk/threat in their own country) are entitled to apply for residency, which will allow them to legally stay on the island; to move freely and apply for work, and which also entitles them to apply for welfare benefits and access to healthcare at the public hospitals.
