Let us see what the Yellow Slip is.
Yellow Slip in Cyprus is a residence permit, which can be received only by EU citizens and their family members. Third-country nationals who do not have citizenship of the European Union but are married to or in a civil union with citizens of the EU are also eligible for a residence permit in Cyprus and can apply for a Yellow Slip.
How to apply for the Yellow Slip?!
EU citizens submit a MEU1 form, accompanied by relevant documents; the EU applicant receives the Yellow slip at the immigration office instantly.

Third-country nationals who are married to EU citizens also receive a yellow permit. They have to submit a MEU2 form. If the package of supporting documents is submitted correctly, then the period of the application examination by the immigration authorities should not take more than 3 months.
What documents should be submitted along with the application?
Copy of a valid passport or/ID
- Contract for renting a house or a declaration from the owner confirming the applicant’s residence at a specific address. A copy of the “title deed” in case of purchasing property in Cyprus.
A copy of the water or electricity bill in the name of the applicant or landlord. - Proof of income: a confirmation from the employer if the applicant is employed; or the confirmation of a self-employment registration in the social insurance department.
- A statement from social insurance on the payment of deductions in case the applicant previously worked
- Medical Insurance plan A or a confirmation from a personal doctor for the registration of GeSy
- Marriage certificate or Civil Union Certificate duly legalized and translated into
English or Greek language. - Birth certificates of children duly legalized and translated
If the child came to Cyprus with one of the parents, you need legalized written permission from the second parent or child custody from the court order on the deprivation of the rights / voluntary waiver of the rights of the second parent.
If the application is submitted by an EU and non-EU couple, a written declaration of cohabitation is certified by the president of a community (mukhtaris)
